Twenty-four large agate beads of flattened shapes from the Bronze Age (approximately four thousand years ago). The dimensions of the beads are as follows (clockwise from the top): 1. Length 3 cm, width at center 1.79 cm, width at ends 1.2 cm, thickness 6 mm, hole diameter 4 mm. 2. Length 1.88 cm, width at center 1.74 cm, width at ends 1.1 cm, thickness 9 mm, hole diameter 3.2 mm. 3. Length 3.23 cm, width at center 1.9 cm, width at ends 1 cm, thickness 9 mm, hole diameter 3.5 mm. Whitening from burial on one side. 4. Length 2.3 mm, width at center 2.1 cm, width at ends 8 mm, thickness 7.7 mm, hole diameter 4.4 mm. 5. Length 3.5 cm, width at center 2.23 cm, width at ends 7.8 mm, thickness 7.5 mm, hole diameter 4 mm. Some chipping at one end, notching at the drill holes and a small chip along one edge. 6. Length 2 cm, width at center 1.88 cm, width at ends 1.3 cm, thickness 8.8 mm, hole diameter 4.8 mm. 7. Length 3.65 cm, width at center 2.2 cm, width at ends 1 cm, thickness 9 mm, hole diameter 4.3 mm. Some whitening from burial in alkaline soil. Notching on one side at bead holes. Some evidence of surface regrinding. 8. Length 2.25 cm, width at center 1.9 cm, width at ends 1.0 cm, thickness 9.2 mm, hole diameter 4 mm. Whitening from burial in alkaline soil. Evidence of regrinding. 9. Length 4.4 cm, width at center 2.12 cm, width at ends 8 mm, thickness 8 mm, hole diameter 4.3 mm. Whitening from burial in alkaline soil on one side. 10. Length 2.25 cm, width at center 2.7 cm, width at ends 1.8 cm, thickness 1 cm, hole diameter 3mm. Slight whitening and some nicks, a chip on one edge. 11. Length 3.65 cm, width at center 2.33 cm, width at ends 1.4 cm, thickness 1.1 cm, hole diameter 4.5 mm. Some whitening from burial in alkaline soil. 12. Length 2.49 cm, width at center 2.75 cm, width at ends 1.5 cm, thickness 7 mm, hole diameter 3 mm. A chip out of the surface on each side, deeper on the back side - evidence of regrinding on this side. 13. Length 4.9 cm, width at center 3.6 cm, width at ends 1 cm, thickness 1.1 cm, hole diameter 4.9 mm. A chip on one edge – an internal fracture. 14. Length 2.1 cm, width at center 2.65 cm, width at ends 2.2 mm, thickness 8.4 mm, hole diameter 3.5 mm. 15. Length 4.8 cm, width at center 2.7 cm, width at ends 8 mm, thickness 7.8 mm, hole diameter 4.8 mm. 16. Length 2.4 cm, width at center 2.94 cm, width at ends 1.3 cm, thickness 6.8 mm. Wear consistent with age and use. Several beads in this necklace show evidence of regrinding, and chipping consistent with age and wear over thousands of years. There is whitening of the surface of some beads due to a chemical reaction from burial in alkaline soil. See description.
