About the Item
A sterling Navajo button circle, dangle
sides are suspended by red glass (white heart) beads from Africa. – original handwritten description by Mary Hancock
Mary and Doug Hancock, of Mummy’s Bundle, create beautiful wearable art jewelry inspired by the ancient Indian cultures. Doug an archaeologist, Mary an artist. Their Exotic Wearable Jewelry is described by them as “Archaeology meets Style”. Mummy’s Bundle is renowned for exquisite chokers boasting beautiful macrame with bold silver adornments. When Doug passed a few years ago, Mary’s passion for the business waned.
Doug and Mary Hancock have made a ton of different kinds of mummy's bundle necklaces over the years, but this one stands out thanks to its gorgeous red white-heart beads. A real collector’s piece that you will not want to miss out on.
White hearts derive their name from the inner core of opaque white glass that is coated with a layer of translucent colored glass. This process produces beads with a unique character as light passes through the bead. Beads such as these are originally of French or Czech provenance and traded in Africa.
