A sensational white South Sea pearl strand necklace with an elegant ball clasp in 18k white gold with diamonds.
The necklace is set with 27 round South Sea pearls with a smooth gradient in size. The strand is knotted between the pearls to protect them from scratching each other. It is then secured with a brushed white gold ball clasp, set with 12 round brillant-cut diamonds.
South Sea pearls are one of the largest and finest quality cultured pearls. These pearls displayed a white body colour and a pinkish-silver overtone, which shows a natural settle iridescence glow under lights. The natural growth marks of the pearls bring the necklace character and uniqueness, showcasing its natural oceanic nacre.
Due to its design and size, the necklace makes an elegant and classic statement piece. It can be worn on various occasions.
The pearls measure approximately between 1.9 and 1.4 centimetres in diameter, and it is rare to find a strand of this large with a perfectly matched gradient in size. The total weight of the pearls is 39.2 momme (147 grams), with very thick in nacre quality and high pearly lustre. The estimated total weight of the diamonds is 0.12 carats, ranging from G-H in colour with VVS clarity.
For size reference, the necklace measures approximately 47 centimetres in length, with a gross weight of 148.6 grams. The clasp measures approximately 1.4 centimetres in diameter, seamlessly matching the pearl size.
The clasp is hallmarked Au750 (for 18k gold). Lastly, a valuation for insurance and authenticity will accompany this piece.
