About the Item
An early to mid-20th century turquoise bead necklace, strung with natural nugget-form stones showing strong, vibrant colour. It’s finished with an 18ct solid gold clasp set with a turquoise cabochon, the mount stamped 750. Length 46 cm, total weight 35 g.
Turquoise was a smart choice in this era. In the 1920s and 1930s it fed the appetite for bold colour and a touch of exoticism, lining up with Art Deco tastes. By the 1940s and 1950s, jewellery trends shifted toward organic shapes and authentic, natural materials, and nugget beads like these hit that mood perfectly.
