About the Item
Victorian Banded Agate Bead Necklaces are few and far between and in this length and quality are rare. This stunning strand is in excellent condition showing no sign of its age. Black agates with uniform prominent white bands were cut, shaped and polished with skill by the jeweler who used only stones with the same stripe. Not only do necklace and banded agate collectors covet these, but marble collectors gobble them up. Under the smooth surface the stones are faceted for maximum shine. A statement not glaring but unquestionably dramatic. There is no outfit inappropriate for this tactile necklace. It can be doubled. Perfect. 40 inches long
