About the Item

Indulge in the 9 foot long Pearl Necklace worn by Vikki Carr with Elvis Presley at the Tropicana Hotel in Las Vegas in 1974, along with photos of Vikki wearing the necklace with Elvis. Elvis Presley was very fond of Vikki and remarked on stage in Las Vegas many times that Vikki Carr was one of his favorite singers because "she sang from the gut." He often brought her onstage (as you can see in the photo) and introduced her at many of the personal appearances at which she attended. The necklace is an extraordinary piece of American Music History, Mexican American History and Latin Music History. Photos of the Legendary Grammy Winning Vikki Carr wearing the magnificent Necklace backstage with Elvis Presley are included. The necklace is also accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as belonging to Vikki Carr. The pearls are an extraordinary 112 inches long. They are 10mm in diameter. The pearls are faux pearls and the clasp is a gold tone magnetic clasp. The photos of Vikki with the necklace and Elvis were taken in 1974. Vikki Carr had seen Elvis' Hilton show several times, including the infamous closing night. On the recording of that show, Elvis complimented her from the stage, plugged her booking at the Tropicana, and even reprised an entire song she'd missed because she'd come directly from the Tropicana to see him perform. Elvis attended her late show on September 4, 1974. The photos were taken backstage at the Tropicana. For the last six decades, Vikki Carr has been one of the world’s foremost classic entertainers. She has released over 60 best‑selling recordings, won three Grammy Awards, and been honored with a Latin Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. Her remarkable voice and talent have brought audiences to tears and to their feet. Covering a variety of genres, from her first love of jazz, to mainstream pop and country, her pioneering crossover into Latin American music solidified her international stardom. Ms. Carr received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1981. Carr also achieved the rare feat of singing for the Queen of England and five US presidents during her career: Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan, George Bush and Bill Clinton. The bicultural nature of her career has included recording with Vicente Fernandez and Pepe Aguilar while the likes of Elvis Presley, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin were friends. In the 1980s and 1990s, Carr had enormous success in the Latin music world, winning Grammy Awards for Best Mexican-American Performance in 1986 for her album Simplemente Mujer, Best Latin Pop Album in 1992 for Cosas del Amor and Best Mexican-American Performance in 1995 for Recuerdo a Javier Solís. Here is a singular opportunity to acquire an object of American Music history that unites two musical legends and that Vikki Carr cherished throughout her life. The pearl necklace will be sent along with a Certificate of Authenticity and with a copy of the photographs of Vikki wearing the necklace with Elvis. The necklace is guaranteed to be from the personal collection of Vikki Carr and was acquired from the sale of her collection. We also have the incredible sapphire diamond paste necklace and earrings Vikki worn to the State Dinner with George Bush along with a photo of Vikki wearing them seated next to President Bush. The necklace is faux pearls. The pearls are 10mm in diameter. The clasp is a gilt metal magnetic clasp. The necklace is 112 inches, over 9 feet, long. Monica Vitti and Franco Carraro - Vintage b/w Photo - 1980s
Located in Roma, IT
Monica Vitti and Franco Carraro is a vintage black and white photograph realized by Agenzia Giornalistica Italia S.p.A in the 1980s. Good condition. Monica Vitti is born in Rome on November 3, 1931. Admitted in 1950 to the Academy of Dramatic Art (where she will return in 1986 as a teacher), and graduated in 1953, she immediately tackles the scenes in L'avaro di Molière (1954), The island of the parrots of S. Tofano (1954), They founded a city of C. Meano (1954), Mother Courage and her children of B. Brecht (1954). Between 1956 and 1959 she also participated in television broadcasts and acted in numerous adaptations of famous theatrical texts. She made her film debut playing secondary parts in Laugh, Laugh, Laugh! by E. Anton, 1955; A mink coat by G. Pellegrini, 1956; Le dritte di M. Amendola, 1958. Dubbing actress of Il scido di M. Antonioni (1957), she meets the director who, after having directed her to the theater in I am a camera by J. Van Druten (1957) and in Secret Scandals by Antonioni and E. Bartolini (1957), he calls her as the protagonist in L'avventura (1960), a film with which V. is a leading actress. Always led by Antonioni, from now on she will play suffering characters who embody a profound crisis of feelings. Apart from a brief television parenthesis (a transposition of the short story The White Nights by F. Dostoevskij, directed by V. Cottafavi), La notte (1961), L'eclisse (1962) and Deserto rosso (1963) belong to a happy partnership with Antonioni (who will be revived episodically for the production of The Mystery of Oberwald [1980], a courageous experiment of intertwining cinema and electronic techniques, propitiated by the exhumation of a play by J. Cocteau, L'aigle à deux têtes). In the second half of the Sixties, however, the producers showed that they preferred her as an actress endowed with caricatural flair, fine humor, vitalistic exuberance, communicative immediacy; and audiences pay her a growing success, not always corresponding to the quality of her filmography or the variety of her interpretations, among which are the very convincing ones in Modesty Blaise...
