About the Item
This classic 18 karat white gold Fope chain, in their signature thick mesh link, features three barrel-shaped stations pavé-set with approximately 0.50 carats of sparkling white diamonds.
The necklace is 17" long and 4mm thick.
The three stations are just under 8mm long and 7.5mm in diameter. Each station has three rows of full-cut diamonds, and each row holds 12 stones for a total count of 108 stones. The diamonds are very small (we estimate no more than 0.005 carats each) but clean and bright. Eytan rates them at least H color and VS2 clarity.
The clasp is excellent -- a chunky lobster on a swivel plugged right into the chain so it's fully integrated. The claw end is stamped with the FOPE name and icon, "750", Fope's Italian registration mark (303 VI), "Italy," and "MOD. DEP." Mod. Dep. is an abbreviation for "modéle depose" and is roughly the same as an American TM, C or R mark, denoting the design is the property of the Fope.
Fope, founded in 1929, is still family-owned and based in Vicenza. Exceptional mesh chains are the cornerstones of their collection.
