About the Item
A magnificant Regency diamond and blue enamel cluster necklace, the necklace comprising twenty-two diamond and enamel cluster motifs, each set with an old cushion-cut diamond with a single-cut diamond to each side, all within a wavy blue enamel cluster border, a diamond-set flower motif linking each cluster, all diamonds estimated to weigh a total of 12 carats, set in silver to a yellow gold mount, with three snap clasps, can be worn as two bracelets or one necklace, gross weight 32 grams, circa 1820.
A stunning convertible necklace from the Regency period. This piece features a repeated diamond and enamel cluster motif which wraps around the length of the necklace. Each cluster features a single dazzling diamond with two further diamonds flanking it, set within a frame of royal blue enamel. Connecting the enamel and diamond links are floral clusters featuring further sparkling diamonds set in silver and gold. The low, wide necklines of the 1820s and 1830s would have paired perfectly with necklaces of this type. This necklace can be split into two separate matching bracelets, which was also fashionable during the period: portraiture of the era often shows women wearing matching bracelets on each wrist over the cuffs of their full sleeves.
