About the Item
A Victorian long chain and slide, the chain of an interlocked double-link style measuring approximately 148 x 0.5cm, with an abstract slide attachment with enamel floral motif and buckle set with seed pearls, measuring approximately 2.9 x 2.2cm, circa 1860, gross weight 75.8 grams.
A Victorian long chain and slide in very good condition. Unmarked tested as 18ct chain, 15ct gold slide and clasp.
This gorgeous and substantial chain comes from the collection of Bentley
Skinner, Jewellers by Royal Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III. This intricate and long chain is an excellent example of mid-Victorian sensibility. This chain includes charming slide decorated with a seed pearl buckle. The chain culminates in a swivel clasp, which would have most likely held a fob watch in the Victorian era but now makes an excellent clip from which to hang a lovely gold charm or two.
