This truly magnificent Carlo Weingrill vintage 18K yellow gold tubogas necklace measures an astounding 72 inches long by just over 1/4 inch diameter square. This amazing creation can be worn as one length or wrapped around the neck multiple times in different configurations creating many unique designs. The quirky and interesting name of "tubogas" is a very apt one, as Italian jewelry crafted in this fashion actually does mimic utilitarian gas tubes employed to carry natural gas for residential and commercial applications.
In our experience, this is by far, the longest necklace of this type, or really of any type, that we have encountered. The clasp tongue is stamped Weingrill, Italy, 750 (designating 18K gold), and bears the workshop mark for the maker. Gross weight is an impressive 240 grams.
