The anterior portion of the necklace is ornamented with an articulating fringe style design, composed from a conjoined oval links accented with graduating vertical pale style terminals. The surface of the necklace is ornamented with a ribbed decoration to one side, and the other is plain and unembellished; this allows for the necklace to be worn with two variations. This substantial gold necklace secures to the reverse with a push fit clasp, and benefits from the added security of a hinged catch. The tongue of the clasp is hallmarked with the French import gold mark (owl); this mark is used for finished articles brought into France to be examined by the French assay office.
