Mediterranean Light, Bottled in Gold
As vivid as a stained-glass window at noon.
This rare Italian necklace from the 1970s captures the playful geometry and bold palette of the era in its most opulent form. Crafted in richly weighted gold, the chain suspends a repeating pattern of translucent plique-à-jour enamel links in deep cobalt and red—hues forever known as “Pepsi” to the initiated. The technique, demanding in its fragility, allows light to pass through the enamel like sun through cathedral glass, casting chromatic shadows on the skin. Long and lithe at 34 inches, the piece can be doubled for a shorter drape or worn full-length for maximum drama.
