About the Item
This rare slide was created in the third quarter of the eighteenth century in France. This type of jewel was worn on a silk or velvet ribbon around the neck, like a choker. The reverse of the top part shows silver fittings through which the ribbon is . This piece of jewellery is designd as series of flowers and flower buds with swirls and foliage. The leaves are engraved and have been gilt the flowers are held together by a bow from which three articulated pendants are suspended . The bow with the three pendants can be detached. The slide is set with paste in closed back settings. The reverse of the slide is partially gilt.
