About the Item
This rare French 18th century silver and rose diamond choker was handcrafted in 1770 ca and comes from Provence or neighbouring departements. This lovely piece of jewellery is designed as a succession of seven diamond set flowers. Each flower has an ornamental upward swirl. From each flower an articulated diamond set pendant is suspended. From the largest flower in the front three flowers on each side decrease in size. The diamonds are mounted in closed settings and all flowers and pendants have smooth flat backs.
The choker is in fine original condition, these kind of chokers were always closed with a ribbon.
