Diamond Swag Necklace with Original Fitted Box.
Fit for a princess! This is such a lovely and romantic jewel and is one of the most beautiful Victorian necklaces we have seen. The design is absolutely preciouses and is completely timeless. The necklace hangs with extraordinary beauty and elegance around the neck with fabulous movement with the dangling turquoises, pearls and diamonds.
This captivating piece is crafted in a classic "swag" or "festoon" style, designed with graceful, draped chains that elegantly adorn the décolletage. The most prominent feature is a central "V" or "U" shaped drop, formed by a delicate chain that creates alluring movement and draws the eye.
The necklace showcases eleven vibrant turquoise cabochons, likely Persian in origin, serving as radiant focal points. These are predominantly set in elegant crown-like prong settings, allowing their beautiful blue-green color to truly shine. Two larger, oval-shaped turquoises gracefully dangle as part of the central drop. The largest Turquoise is 8.5x5.29x2.84mm, the smallest 3.4x4.90x2.24mm
Tiny, lustrous seed and split pearls, 3mm are intricately integrated throughout the design, appearing dotted along the fanciful scroll links that connect the turquoises, and as part of the delicate chains forming the swag, adding a soft, classic touch. Small, bright Peruzzi-cut diamonds are strategically placed within the scroll links, adding subtle sparkle. These diamonds are set in Georgian collet-style silver settings, providing a bright contrast against the gold.
The entire piece is meticulously crafted from rich 15ct yellow gold, a popular fineness during the Victorian era, which beautifully complements the vibrant turquoise and lustrous pearls. The necklace retains its original chain, complete with a traditional tube lock, affirming its authenticity and integrity.
This ravishing swag necklace is over 150 years old, yet has retained every inch of her splendor!
This elegant jewel measures length 41cm, 16 inches long, additional 2" of a swag and the longest drop.
