About the Item
This stunning Space Age necklace is a modern design by Binglabà Italy. The piece features a futuristic design, with white Acrylic resin forming a rigid, open-around-the-neck band. The choker is ornate with Murano art glass cabochons in black and orange. An engraved marking on the underside reads: Ion + Binglabà.
Measurements: The neck circumference is 17.75 in (45 cm), the band width is 1.38 in (3.4 cm), the front opening is 2.38 in wide (6 cm), and the largest cabochon is 2.44 in diameter (6.2 cm). This necklace will best fit a Small to Medium-Sized neck with a 14 in (36 cm) circumference.
Note: In amazing modern plexiglass creations, pieces by Italian duo Binglabà surely come first to mind. Their creations used plexiglass and played with unusual shapes to eye-catching results.
Many years ago, their original creations were seen in Pitti Immagine Filati in Florence in 2006. The Binglabà team was exhibiting in the accessories and vintage area. Since then, many magazines have featured their work. They also produced an exceptional range for Pollini by Rifat Ozbeck for the spring/summer 2007 ready-to-wear Collection (check the last pictures for reference).
Binglabà presents plexiglass accessories with a futuristic value. Their sculptural bracelets and necklaces, all handcrafted with methacrylate, adapt perfectly to the lines of the body. Looking at them, they seem to create a bridge between art and design, between past and future.
To our knowledge, the company is no longer in operation.
