Classic spiral twist design with a wonderful double hinged closure. Substantial, fine heirloom quality synonymous with Black, Starr
Frost. Gold torque or torc necklaces have been admired for centuries- from around 8th century BC onwards. A gold torc identified the wearer as a person of high rank and was considered a key piece of jewelry. The Greek, Roman and Celtic cultures produced some of the finest torc necklaces, many of which are prominently on view in some of the most respected museums worldwide. In ancient times, both men and women were known to wear torcs. The spiral torc is a complex design which is associated with the Celts. It required a high degree of workmanship and was among the most desirable type of torc necklaces.
