About the Item
This beautiful enamel and pate de verre link choker necklace was produced in Limoges, France, in the 1950s. The enameled round domed copper elements are hinged with a gilded brass chain. This popular 1950s and 1960s technique, named "cookies," was used in Limoges to create jewelry. Copper pieces were silver-foiled or gild-foiled, then decorated with clear enamel and topped with colored fused glass, boasting fabulous colors with an intense glow. This choker is adorned with black, gray, and gold colors over a silver foil background. The necklace has a spring ring closing clasp. There is no visible signature or mark.
The necklace is in good condition, with minor wear on the metal due to light use.
