This stunning French Jewelry Designer Monique Vedie Paris choker necklace features a dimensional around-the-neck rigid chromed metal link ornate with a turquoise green modernist talosel pendant over brown background resin. Monique Vedie's vintage resin jewelry is always unsigned.
The necklace is in good condition, with minor wear on the metal rigid band.
Measurements: The necklace's inner circumference is 16.07 in long (41 cm), the rigid band is 0.19 in wide (0.5 cm), and the pendant is 1.25 in wide (3.2 cm) x 2 in high (5.1 cm). This necklace will best fit a Medium-sized neck of 13.75 in circumference (35 cm).
About:
Monique Vedie was born in the 1920s and has been a student of Line Vautrin in Paris, where she learned her famous Talosel process. Vedie created vibrant cellulose acetate jewelry when she started her business, primarily featuring fruits, flowers, and a few characters. In the beginning, the look of her pieces was very similar to Vautrin's work. All her jewelry pieces are hand-made and hand-crafted. The creations are unsigned, but the style is unique and highly recognizable. Before retiring in 1992, she worked with many prestigious Parisian fashion houses, from Paulette to Jean Barther, and collaborated with couturiers such as Lanvin, Dior, and Ungaro. The signature style established by Vedie is continued under the company "CILEA" by present designer Stephane Ravel. Cilea Paris now mainly works for French designer Francoise Montague and also under their label.
