About the Item
This is a delicate and pretty but very sophisticated fringed necklace. The necklace consists of “fringes” of tubular form tourmaline gems.
The fringes of tourmaline “sticks” are separated by lustrous freshwater oval black pearls overtones of pink and green. The tourmalines are arranged in an alternating pattern of pink and green. The pink pieces range in color from deep pink to medium and pale shading. The green tourmaline are colored from a deep emerald green to an almost green/black.
The shimmering pearls are flanked by micro faceted pale morganite rondelles. The necklace is joined by a deep green onyx toggle.
While tourmaline has only been identified as such since the early 20th century, this gem has been around for eons. Because tourmaline comes in a vast array of colors, prior to its classification it was often that to be emerald, ruby and even sapphire along with many other gems.
