Rare c. 1870... A late Authentic Antique English Victorian 15ct Gold Slightly Graduated Moonstone Fringe Necklace
Moondrops! The dominant style of the 1860s-1880s, featured super sexy articulated, breathtaking authentic Blue Moonstone Fringe Cable Chain Yellow Gold Necklace. Hailing from the late Victorian Era, this stunning English-made antique 15ct Gold Moonstone fringe necklace is an ethereal beauty! The glowing 9 large round and oval Moonstones cabochons with desirable and sought after adularescence schiller and the most incredible blue and white sheen, boast a total of appr. 21 carats, each encased in buttery 15ct Gold crown like prongs setting, with the contrasting warm and cool tones effortlessly complimenting one another. They are all very clear with minimal natural inclusions giving them an ethereal majestic glow.
Round cable chain, fringes and clasp finding is tube catch. As you can see, the necklace remains all original attributes! Super Rare Find!
All of the Moonstones are set in open backed frame work to capture the light reflecting their beautiful colors. You'll adore how this antique fringe drapes on the neck, providing a beautiful statement while retaining an elegant sophistication. Central Oval Moonstone calculated weight 2.54cts, based on estimated dimensions of 8.76x10.95x4.50mm. The smallest 2 moonstones approx. 2.0 each (8.14x3.48mm). The approximate total weight of all 9 moonstones is 21.0 ctw (set approximately 1 inch between a stone) and mostly 2.5ct+ each in average.
This elegant jewel measures 15.5" inches ( 40 cm ) long. The weight is 9.98 grams.
The all original link chain finished with tube catch clasp, 10.5mm.
HALLMARKS: 'J.M 15ct'. Possibly for John Mitchel ( goldsmith , worked in Glasgow 2nd 1/2 19th Century. Reference from "Jackson's Hallmarks" catalog). A historical treasure right on your neck!

This stunning, fine and impressive Victorian moonstone necklace has been crafted in 12k yellow gold.
The necklace displays a feature two-tiered drop to the center of the arrangement; the central tier ornamented with two bezel set round cabochon cut moonstones and the lower tier tapering to a single oval cabochon cut moonstone terminal.
The central drop is flanked on either side by a total of six bezel set oval cabochon cut moonstones drops, dispersed evenly.
The moonstone drops suspend from a 15.5" belcher chain, crafted in 12k yellow gold.
The chain secures with a conventional spring loaded bolt ring fastening to the reverse.
This antique Victorian collarette has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 12k gold.
The necklace is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
