THIS IS AN ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS AND VERY RARE 16 INCH ANTIQUE VICTORIAN BELLE EPOQUE BOHEMIAN GARNET COLLAR NECKLACE WITH SUPERB EARLY FLAT CUT DEEP RED WINE GARNETS OF THE HIGHEST QUALITY DATING TO CIRCA 1850-1880. THE NECKLACE IS MAGNIFICENT.
This is a stunning garnet necklace. It is very rare find garnet necklaces in this stunning collar style and with the early and most desirable flat cut garnets. The garnets are set in silver gilt as was the custom of the period. The necklace is completely articulated so as to sit smoothly and gracefully around the neck. It is exquisite. All of the garnets are original to the necklace.
The original clasp is not fully present. The necklace has been extended to a wearable 16 inches with an extension safety chain.
This is one of the most fabulous early garnet necklaces we have seen and is so wonderfully wearable! The garnets are of the most gorgeous deep red color and they are vibrant magical gems.
The necklace is 16 inches long.
The center section is 7/8 inch (23 mm) wide.
The smallest sections are 12mm wide.
The Bohemian Garnets are set in Silver Gilt as was the custom of the period.
