About the Item
A stunning vintage diamond and ruby walking elephant necklace set in solid 18k yellow gold.
The necklace is composed of 29 beautifully crafted walking elephants. The central 5 elephants are pave set with 215 round brilliant cut diamonds and are each accented with a round cut ruby eye. The elephants are connected by a hinge fitting which allows the animals to move ever so slightly with the neck.
Due to its size and design, the necklace is perfect as a statement piece or matches with simpler chain necklaces.
The total weight of the diamonds is 2.45 carats, ranging from G-H in colour with VVS clarity. The total weight of the rubies is 0.13 carats. For size reference, the necklace measures approximately 42.5 centimetres in length, with a gross weight of 60.4 grams.
The necklace is hallmarked 750, 18k, D245 (for diamond weight), R013 (for ruby weight). Lastly, a valuation for insurance and authenticity will accompany this piece.
