Vintage Maison Goossens Yves Saint Laurent Rock Crystal Choker Circa 1985. This is a couture piece shown in the Spring 1985 couture show. I have never had a piece in the collection like this one. It is four rows of transparent rock crystal, then 11 pear drops of Pate De Vere, with rondelles at the top and bottom of each dangling white pate de verre piece. This necklace is so stunning. It is heavy and substantial! This is Couture at its finest! There is a long dangling piece in the back of the rock crystal that is as pretty as anything. At the end is another pate de verre with a significant teardrop so that you look as gorgeous coming as you do going. The mannequins and the video do this justice. When seen on your skin with the clear crystal, it is just magnificent. This is a piece of work. It is in great shape and has been kept in a covered jeweler's box.
This is a serious piece of work! I mean stunning!! 14" -17" L. You could wear it as a choker or lay it flat as a necklace if you choose. This is substantial and well-made.
This is rock crystal, and until you lay your hands on it, it is hard to understand the beauty and the weight and the construction of it. It is truly a piece of art.
