A fine signed Mid-Century Modern silver choker or collar necklace. In sterling silver. By Paul Lobel. Lobel was a Romanian-born and New York based jeweler, designer, illustrator who was an influential Modernist and beloved figure in the Greenwich Village art community throughout the mid-20th Century. His jewelry often avoids gemstone embellishment and embraces a stark simplicity influenced by his background in industrial design. Comprising alternating rectangular and circular links and with a hook closure. Marked to the reverse of rectangular link. Simply a wonderful Modernist necklace by Lobel!
