We are delighted to offer this splendid antique 15ct gold peridot and pearl necklace made in Art Nouveau design c.1900s. The necklace comes in a likely original/period-correct case which will be also included. Upon first glance, this necklace immediately presents an air of opulence and classical elegance; a three-tiered lavalier design with intricate gem set embellishments throughout. The main pendant features a wonderful Art Nouveau gold mount in which a central peridot is surrounded by seed pearls of varying sizes. Beneath, a single teardrop peridot is suspended that moves freely and splendidly accentuating the overall naturalistic design upon wearing. Extending outwards, two further cluster peridots and scrolled leaves join the chain, flowing seamlessly from one section to another creating a wonderful cascade of gems that glisten from all angles. Owing to such an intricate and freely moving design, the necklace contours smoothly around the neck, making it highly complementary with open blouses and one-piece dresses that allow the necklace to be fully displayed. Overall a truly elegant, distinguished and classical piece of Art Nouveau jewellery, ideal for the discerning antique jewellery lover or for those wishing to make a statement with a historical piece of jewellery unlike contemporary designs. Peridot is known to be the birthstone for August and June for pearls. The pendant is stamped 15ct on the rear of the pendant.
