About the Item
This unusual Art Nouveau silver necklace was created towards the end of the 19th century out of silver. The necklace is composed out of silver chain and three open work elements reminiscent of a classical Greek key pattern. Each of these elements is decorated with a sweet water bouton pearl. From each of these elements a silver garland made up from laurel leaves is suspended. The center of each wreath is decorated with a pale blue enamelled flower. From the Greek key pattern element in the center a wreath decorated with a bow and a flower is suspended from two chains. To either side two articulated dangling natural pearls are suspended. The Greek key elements alternate with quatrefoils set with bouton river pearl.
The reverse of the wreath with the bow has an impressed unidentified makers mark and a 930 silver mark for sterling silver.
