An Edwardian diamond, platinum, and yellow gold necklace, comprising two large old European cut diamonds, and thirty-five old single cut diamonds, set in platinum, backed in 15 karat yellow gold, with chain in 18 karat yellow gold.
My favourite thing about this Antique 18K Yellow Gold and Platinum Diamond Necklace is the elegant design. What’s yours? Perhaps the sparkling diamonds? Or the combination of platinum and yellow gold?
This elegant pendant is created as a light, elegant mesh-like design, set to each point with an old single cut diamond. The diamonds are set within platinum-topped bezel settings, backed in yellow gold, which accentuate the bright, white diamonds even further. An old European cut diamond is set at the centre of the piece, and pave set diamonds lead to the terminals, which are set with a further bezel set diamond, which connect to the integral chain. Further pave set diamonds lead us to the point of the necklace, from which an elegant drop is suspended. A graceful, elongated teardrop shape is pave set with old single cut diamonds, from which a final old European cut diamond dropper is suspended. The large old European cut diamond is bright, white, and sparkly, with good symmetry, and wonderful colour and clarity, a truly exquisite diamond. The smaller diamonds are bright, white, sparkly, and well-matched with one another. The pendant is suspended on an integral yellow gold chain, complete with a spring ring clasp. The necklace is in great condition. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
