About the Item

An airy Edwardian platinum pendant with filigree design, featuring diamond, pared with a 14k gold chain. The pendant features a finely detailed filigree with a symmetrical bow element at its center. The bow is accented by an Old European cut diamond, framed by delicate rose cut diamonds that continue along the open lattice pattern. The border of the pendant is outlined with additional rose cuts, giving definition to its elegant shape. The craftsmanship highlights the lace-like style typical of early 20th-century jewelry. This generously sized piece carries its original period charm and remains very wearable. The combination of intricate metalwork, antique diamond cuts, and mixed metals reflects the refined aesthetic of the Edwardian era. This antique pendant is made of platinum, Old European and rose cut diamonds. It is attached to a delicate 14 karat yellow gold chain. The Edwardian pendant measures 1 ½” (3.9 cm) in diameter. The chain measures 4" (10 cm) at its single part and 24" (60 cm) at the part that goes around the neck. The chain is 1/16" (0.2 cm) wide. The Edwardian necklace weighs 11.7 grams. About Edwardian Jewelry: Edwardian era jewelry, created between 1901 and 1915 during the reign of King Edward VII of England, is celebrated for its light, elegant, and intricate designs. This period marked a transition from the heavier Victorian styles to more delicate and sophisticated jewelry, reflecting the refinement of the Edwardian court. Jewelers during this time favored platinum for its strength and ability to hold complex filigree work, resulting in airy, lace-like designs often adorned with diamonds and pearls. Motifs such as bows, garlands, laurel wreaths, and floral patterns were incredibly popular, showcasing a combination of classical influence and modern elegance. Edwardian jewelry represents a high point in craftsmanship, with each piece meticulously handmade to achieve the luxurious and graceful look synonymous with the era. Today, Edwardian jewelry remains highly desirable among collectors and fashion enthusiasts due to its unmatched craftsmanship and timeless style. Each piece is unique, reflecting the artistry of master jewelers who crafted every detail by hand. The exquisite filigree work, use of high-quality materials, and romantic motifs make Edwardian jewelry not only a beautiful accessory but also a wearable piece of history. People love Edwardian pieces for their versatility and elegance, easily pairing with both vintage and contemporary outfits. Investing in Edwardian jewelry means owning a rare, stylish, and historically significant piece that continues to captivate jewelry lovers around the world.
