The set, dating back to 1860, consists of a pair of earrings and a necklace in Etruscan style, characterized by a series of amphora-shaped pendants of two different alternating sizes, so as to create a symmetrical and extremely elegant whole; the earrings, however, reflect the two different dimensions of amphora and are characterized, in the upper part, by a very fine decoration with classical scrolls which helps to embellish them. Neo-Etruscan jewellery originated at the beginning of the 19th century, in the wake of the interest aroused by archaeological discoveries made in the Etruria area. This context favoured the rediscovery and diffusion of ancient goldsmith techniques, as well as a renewed appreciation for the Etruscan style. The set in question highlights an extraordinarily refined gold processing, characterized by a significant lightness that makes it extremely comfortable to wear.
