About the Item
A stunning romantic Pendant in the form of a flying Bird carrying a Diamond and set with Seed Pearl Wings. The bird flies toward two beautiful green gold leaves. The pendant has elements of the Victorian as well as the Art Nouveau periods. The Victorian Era was a high point for jewelry, not just for the quality of the pieces but also for the way the Victorians used them as meaningful symbols. Birds were particularly popular during the period as an animal motif in jewelry. Swallows and doves in particular adorned all kinds of pieces. Swallows mate for life and always go back to their nest, so it made sense for them to be on jewelry that lovers would give to each other. Doves were associated with peace, hope, and faith much like they are today. The brooch is 10 Karat Gold with Green Gold used for the leaves. The workmanship on the pendant is of the very highest quality. The gold is a gorgeous warm yellow color.
The pendant is 1 inch (26 mm) wide. It is 1 1/8 inches (29mm) tall including the bales. Without the bales it is 7/8 inch tall.
The pendant is 10 Karat Rose and Green Gold.
