About the Item
Charming Victorian Revivalist Owl Necklace from the late 19th Century. Charming owl motif which signified knowledge and wisdom, rendered as a beautifully detailed gold bird on branch within a blue enameled cup, bordered with white enamel and etruscan gold detailing. A hair locket which can be opened, is on the obverse. The pendant in 15K gold has been assembled with a period chain of 9K gold. 1870's UK. 2" x .8" wide. Chain 18.5".
