About the Item
Antique natural pearl and diamond necklace, circa 1880. A gold and silver necklace with one central florette set with a natural round pearl surrounded by eight petals, each set with eight round old cut diamonds in grain settings with an approximate total weight of 0.80 carats, the lower half of the articulated necklace links composed of a double row of round pearls alternated with round rose cut diamonds in grain settings, and with drops set with round pearls, the centremost drops surmounted by pairs of diamond set leaves and the outermost surmounted with collet set diamonds, the upper half of the necklace links composed of a single row of pearls alternated with round rose cut diamonds grain set in stylized floraform mounts, the clasp composed of three horizontally set rose cut diamonds grain set in box collets, with one hundred and eight natural round pearls in total, and with one hundred and fifty four round rose cut diamonds in total all with an approximate weight of 3.00 carats, all mounted in silver topped gold, in a green and gold leather fitted box (not original).
