Seppo Tamminen's rise to the forefront of jewelery makers was rapid, and by the 1970s, Seppo had consolidated its position. Pop art also made its mark on jewelery, but Seppo's work also showed Slavic influences.
Seppo Ilmari Tamminen (September 20, 1944 Helsinki - July 25, 2012 Hämeenlinna) was a prolific Finnish jewelery and visual artist.
Tamminen came to the attention of the art world in the 1960s with his jewelry. These subjects he got from nature, the shapes of flowers and curved leaves. After the unique jewelery, a barefoot Helsinki resident moved to Lope and founded the Järventausta Art Center. The exhibition activity ended at the time when Tamminen was attracted to Riihimäki to renovate his home and studio for the working population of the glass factory of the Hyttikortteli house in a residential area built at the beginning of the 20th century. Life did not settle until he discovered H. G. Paloheimo's Santamäki manor in Lopen Launos. In addition to jewelery, Tamminen is especially known for his sympathetic gouache paintings longing for the past world.

Featuring stamped-brass findings c1930, this Miriam Haskell collar necklace was made by her first designer Frank Hess in an Art-Nouveau style with ornate floral motifs for its 15 dangling bud-shaped or fluted-ball pendants, along with intricate textural patterns on the bands that link the oval-ring chain choker. Among the festoon of graduating charms, the largest centered pendant is 1.5 inches long and 0.75 inches in diameter. One of our photos show that the surprisingly light-weight pendants are hollow--some with a hole punched at the bottom.
The distinct stamped brass, which include a fold-over clasp, are found in more obviously Haskell-Hess pre-WWII jewelry...
