This particular necklace from the mid-19th century is made of 18-carat gold and is characterized by a chain articulated in such a way as to recall the scales of the snake whose head, in the front part, constitutes the closure of the necklace itself. The snake, in particular, is decorated with blue enamels, eyes that stand out for being cabochon rubies and natural pearls of different sizes. Furthermore, a heart-shaped pendant is suspended from the snake's mouth, which reflects its decoration with blue enamels and pearls, while on the back there is an enamelled compartment.
