Rare Geiss Berlin Iron Girandole Vine Leaf Necklace

Proudly we present, In impeccable condition, this rarely seen showpiece necklace by Geiss that surrounds the neck with graceful openwork iron leaves, clasped with the original flower closure of the master. Central is a remarkable girandole medallion lined with the telltale tiny leaves Geiss incorporated in his designs. Three additional leaves are suspended from the medallion. Notice that the flower at the center of the medallion was applied in three layers and is framed with gold . The Geiss stamp marked on the back of the clasp is clear.

A generous Berlin Iron necklace, c. 1810, light and airy, weighs little on the body. The central medallion is floral in the form of a girandole suspending three hanging elements. The chain consists of links of four open circles each with a tiny flower in the center repeating the floral clasp and the flower in the middle of the medallion. There is no question that the necklace is in original condition which is amazingly fine.
