About the Item
Blooming forms of red Georgian garnets lay smoothly on the neck and fall in an inch arrangement of flowers on the chest. These necklaces have become rare and costly. Red is the color of passion. The reverse is the wonderful Georgian, silky, nine carat gold, rounded and cushioning each foiled garnet. The color of the stones are rich and brilliant. As they round the neck the garnets alternate, some oval, some three petalled flowers. Gold is barely visible near the stones. Created c. 1820, the age shows with only a minor pinch to the gold on the back that is barely detectable without strain to the eye.. English origin. Excellent condition. Length 16.25 Weight 13.3 grams
