About the Item
Large and wonderful Victorian Pyrite Necklace from the late 19th Century. Once called "Fools Gold", it is mounted in graduated oval settings with "Irish harp" motif centerpiece.
Pyrite is a fragile stone and was quite popular during the Victorian period. The stone is purported to have certain mystical powers as well. 1880's Ireland.
16" length. Pendant 2.5" x 1.5" across. Excellent condition.
