Unique Art Deco Egyptian Revival necklace, 1920 circa
Comprising a skillfully natural Lapis hand carved centerpiece featuring an Egyptian Pharaoh, magnificent open work made of solid 18 KT gold platinum topped adorned with natural Pearls and rose cut Diamonds with suspended natural Lapis drop
Completed by five strands of natural Fresh water Pearls supplied by superb antique silver over 18 Kt gold antique plaque clasp, richly carved detailed with fabulous scrolled leaf work.

History note: the exciting new archeological discoveries in Egypt 1922, primarily the tomb of Tutankhamen, had a huge influence on Art Deco jewellery design motifs. New combinations of materials – lapis lazuli with gold, carnelian with turquoise – were inspired by the Pharaohs, Lotus blossoms, scarabs, pyramids and the eye of Horus are among the ancient Egyptian motifs that can be spotted in Art Deco jewellery.

Gems: 5 strands of natural fresh water pearls ranging in diameter from 4.5 mm. to 5.0 mm. - centre piece has 5 natural pearls of approx. 4 mm. in diameter each average - 23 rose cut diamonds totaling approx .65 Ct - 1 hand carved natural Lapis of 18 mm. x 21 mm. - 1 drop cut natural lapis of 16 mm. x 9 mm.
Measures: central is 59 mm. x 34 mm. - clasp is 16 mm. x 14 mm. (h. x w.) - total length on the shortest strand is 39 cm.
