About the Item
An absolutely exquisite chain necklace from the Georgian (ca1850s) era! This beautiful piece is crafted in 18k yellow gold, and is comprised of interlocking disc-shaped links. The discs are doubled, which gives the piece a "sequin"-style look. The disc-shaped links are connected by ellipse-shaped links, which feature a twisting wirework-design, and are each decorated with 2 small three-dimensional gold balls. The piece secures with ah highly elaborate push clasp, which features Etruscan-style wirework and three-dimensional floral-motifs. The necklace is doubled, which gives the piece a lovely layered look. A one-of-a-kind chain necklace, this piece would make a magnificent addition to any collection!
Measurements:The chain measures approximately 19". The piece has a total weight of 35.5dwt.
Condition:The overall condition of the chain necklace is excellent. All of the gold links are secure and intact, and the highly-intricate push clasp is secure and in working order.
