About the Item
This mid-century coral beaded necklace is created with a 14 karat gold clasp. The necklace is made with a beautiful rectangular shaped clasp set with three round-shaped coral cabochon stones. The four strands are created of natural coral set with barrel-shaped beads and strung with red thread. The strands are attached to gold balls to keep them in place. The coral is of good quality and has a beautiful color- Corallium Rubrum.
In the 16th century, the traditional costume was created in the Netherlands, including jewelry made of coral, which lasted until the 20th century. These types of jewels represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands.
The necklace is in very good condition and of high quality. The strands are re-threaded. Marked and tested as 14 karat gold.
