About the Item
A 14 karat yellow gold three-strand natural red coral beaded necklace. The necklace has a beautiful round gold filigree clasp set with a round cabochon cut coral stone. The corals on this multi-strand necklace are barrel-shaped and have a diameter of approximately 5 millimeters in diameter. The red thread of these strands is knotted between the first four beads.
These types of jewels represent a varied and rich historical Dutch cultural heritage, worn by women in some parts of the Netherlands. In the 19th century, coral really came into fashion and was part of the traditional costume, the Dutch have been wearing coral jewelry since the 16th century.
The coral necklace is in very good condition and of high quality. The coral may differ slightly in color due to the artificial light. Hallmark present and visible. Tested as 14 karat gold.
