About the Item
This is a very collectible necklace by one of the best Kewa artists, Nestoria Coriz. She is a member of the Santo Domingo Pueblo Tribe, near Santa Fe, NM - where gem cutting and gemstone bead making is their expertise.
Nestoria's has been creating necklaces since the 1960s. She hand makes all componenents of her jewelry: sterling silver findings, barrels, beads; and inlaid pendants. Nestoria's necklaces are displayed at many of the top galleries and museums throughout the SouthWest.
One of the best examples of her work, just exquisite. Diamond Shaped Centerpiece is inlaid with Turquoise, Lapis Lazuli, and Mother of Pearl. All set in Sterling Silver and inlaid with additional Sterling Silver Design.
The Pendant measures 1&5/8” wide and 2&1/4”long
The Necklace itself has over 40 Turquoise Octagon Cut Beads separated by round silver balls. About halfway up are two joined sterling barrel beads that have been stamped with flowers and Native American decorative designs. Finished with a hook and ring closure, additional length could easily be added.
