The 1930's and 1940's were periods of high quality work in silver in Mexico. Many artists who worked in William Spratling's studio came into their own and became acknowledged for their fine design and talent with high grade silver. Offered here is a sterling silver fringe necklace made by Victoria, c 1940. Victoria opened a shop exhibiting her hand wrought silver designs near Los Castillo on Plaza de Los Castillo in Taxco. Her true name is Ana Maria Nunez de Brilanti. Her trade name 'Victoria" is the mark on her well designed jewelry. William Spratling and Margot mentored Victoria. Penny Morrill's book written with Carole Berk, shows this neclace on page 121.
