About the Item
A gorgeous fly pin/pendant from the Victorian (ca1880s) era! Crafted in 14kt yellow gold and topped in sterling silver, this incredible piece is glittering with 3ctw of Rose Cut diamonds. The wings and body sparkle beautifully, each set with lovely opals that emit wonderful rainbow hues. An incredible Pear Shaped ruby represents the fly's thorax, exhibiting an incredible pink hue and weighing approximately 0.50ctw. Two vibrant green emerald cabochons are set as its eyes, separated by its detailed head and complemented by its antennae. Detailed golden legs peek out from underneath the 3-dimensional piece, and a pin mechanism rests diagonally underneath, secured by a levered clasp. A collapsible bail hides behind the fly's head, allowing the piece to hang from a favorite chain. A unique and spectacular piece, this fly pin would be a wonderful addition to a Victorian collection!
The pin measures 1 1/4" tall, 1 7/16" at its widest point across the wings, and rests about 1/4" deep.
