About the Item
A fine vintage gold Christian charm.
In 14 karat yellow gold.
With blue enamel to the front and back.
In the form of the "Miraculous Medal", a devotional medal based on the Marian apparitions experienced by Saint Catherine Labouré in the Chapel of Graces of the Miraculous Virgin.
To the front is a depiction of Mary standing on the earth and crushing a serpent beneath her feet. Above Mary, it reads "O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to you". Below is 1830; the year that the Blessed Virgin Mary is said to have appeared to Catherine Labouré.
Decorated to the reverse with a cross and bar above the letter M and twelve stars around the edge. There are two hearts below the M and both have a flame above them. The left heart is bound by a crown of thorns and the right heart is impaled with a sword.
Simply a wonderful depiction of the Miraculous Medal!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is visible wear and scratches to the enamel surfaces and some loss to the enamel on the reverse (chiefly at the edge). Otherwise, there is some light edge wear and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
