What a treasure for the Gump's collector and jade lover! This 1970's jewel from the iconic San Francisco retailer, Gump's, features a hand-carved deep forest green nephrite jade egg wrapped securely in ribbons of buttery 18k yellow gold and tied with a bow on top. Oh, and the ribbon is cut at an angle. A tiny detail, so easily missed but so deeply charming when noticed.
The bottom of the pendant or charm is marked 18K and Gump's.
This wonderful little treasure measures 27.26mm x 14.77. And because it's an original creation by Gump's, we know that the jade is 100% natural and untreated. It weighs almost 9 grams so it's a pleasingly weighty trinket.
Original Gump's jade jrewelry is enormously popular and highly collectible. My grandmother, Carolyn, was an avid collector of Gump's jade jewelry and she had several of these eggs.
