Indulge in this gorgeous Victorian - Art Deco Amethyst Cross Pendant in 14 Karat Gold with an Amethyst Bead Necklace. The stunning cross is set with six magnificent rectangular emerald cut faceted natural mined Amethyst gems. These amethysts have the most gorgeous Rose de France color. The gold cross is 2 1/2 inches tall. It has fabulous design with ornate flower motifs between each of the amethyst gems. The ornate bale is adorned with additional flower medallions. The gems are all set within lovely crown motif settings with individual prongs. The amethyst are set "a Jour", open backed, so as to let the maximum amount of light through. This magnificent jewel dates to the Victorian to Art Deco period, circa 1850-1910. The cross hangs from a chain of faceted natural amethyst rondelle beads also in the Rose de France color. Crosses are all the rage today and this exquisite early cross set with Amethysts in the ornate flower motif setting in 14 Karat Gold is a fabulous treasure.
The cross necklace is a treasure to be worn and to be passed on for generations.
The cross is 2 1/2 inches (63mm) tall including the bale and is 1 1/4 inches (33mm) wide.
