About the Item
An antique diamond, enamel, platinum and yellow gold necklace, three enamelled panels, two seed pearls, one old European cut diamonds, and nineteen rose cut diamonds, set in 18 karat yellow gold and platinum, with a platinum chain.
An extremely beautiful piece, cleverly designed to allow 4 different ways wo wear. The pendant is designed so the gold panel, verso, can be unscrewed by way of the screwdriver-like tool secreted in the hidden compartment in the fitted case. By removing the back of the pendant, one can change between 3 enamel colours, or choose to wear the pendant without any enamel, giving 4 different looks. The enamel panels are in sky blue, baby pink, and lavender grey and each sports a radiating, engine-turned, guilloche design. The pendant is suspended from a platinum bale, commencing with a shimmering seed pearl. The seed pearl leads to a fan-shaped, openwork motif, studded with diamonds. From here, an elegant, curved, kite-shape is resplendent with diamond set leaves, and bezel set diamonds, and a circular panel of platinum wirework. Light and airy openwork sections are encapsulated with platinum millegrain settings. From the bottom of the pendant, a diamond and natural pearl dropper is suspended. The epitome of a Belle Epoque jewel. The back of the pendant is in yellow gold, and the pendant is complete with platinum trace link chain, and screwdriver tool. The reverse of the pendant and each enamel panel are stamped “Patent 23105 Oct. 6th 1910”. The necklace is in excellent condition, with minimal wear to the enamel. Wear and tear acquiescent with age.
