About the Item
A stunning, fine and impressive antique 4.27 carat diamond, 15 karat yellow gold and silver set pendant/brooch - boxed; part of our Edwardian jewelry collection.
This stunning, fine and impressive antique pendant necklace has been crafted in 15k yellow gold with a silver setting.
The pierced decorated, sinuous frame is embellished with a feature claw 0.69ct and 0.65ct Old European round cut diamond, to the centre and apex of the design.
The central feature diamond is surmounted with a leaf-shaped setting ornamented with two pavé set diamonds.
The impressive scrolling frame is ornamented with sixty-two pavé set diamonds, in a combination of Old European, mine and Dutch cuts.
The articulating terminal to the nadir of the setting is embellished with three further pavé set diamonds, completing the design.
This feature pendant design suspends from a detachable 18' platinum chain; the chain secures via two small spring-loaded bolt fastenings to the upper border of the setting.
This versatile piece of Edwardian jewelry may also be worn as a brooch, securing with a conventional hinged pin and clasp fastening to the reverse of the setting; the piece could be converted to solely be a pendant upon request.
The side of the setting is hallmarked with the French import mark for gold (owl) and silver (swan)*.
This stunning Edwardian brooch/pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 15 karat gold and silver, with a platinum chain.
This impressive pendant/brooch is supplied with two IDGL diamond grading report certificates for the feature stones, in addition to an IDGL diamond grading report card for the supporting stones.
The antique diamond brooch setting and chain are fully displayed in an exceptional hinged leatherette presentation box, with a velvet and satin lined interior; the larger capacity bespoke fitment to include the chain indicates the high quality of the piece.
The interior of the cover bears the French retailer's mark 'Ate Bigot, 15 Rue Moyenne, Bourges'*.
This stunning pendant/brooch is a superior example of its type; goldsmiths of this period always created fine work.
This distinguished Edwardian diamond brooch in yellow gold is an exceptional choice for both gifting and personal acquisition. Ideal for milestone anniversaries, significant birthdays, or as a romantic Valentine’s gesture, it also makes a refined wedding gift — perfect for a bride or mother of the bride.
* The swan mark, used between 1893 and 1970, served as an import identification mark for silver watchcases, boxes and jewelry, certifying a minimum fineness of 800 standard and indicated production in a non-treaty country; this French import mark, in addition to the jewelry retailer Auguste Bigot, determines the date of this piece as circa 1910.
Images do not always reflect the true color and brilliance of gemstones and diamonds. The video however provides a truer representation of the actual color and showcases each stone.
Condition
This stunning antique Edwardian brooch/pendant is exceptional quality, set with stunning diamonds displaying a fine white color, brilliance and presence; although one of the diamonds is clarity graded at P1, it shows no unsightly black inclusions.
The impressive supporting diamonds display a fine white color and brilliance.
The pendant/brooch is an exceptional gauge of gold and silver and is in exceptional condition, with clear hallmarks to the side of the setting.
Reflections in photographs may detract from the true representation of this stunning example of Edwardian diamond brooches.
